Early life
Eric Van Lustbader’s early life was spent on the lush green Greenwich Village in the United States, and the beautiful countryside played a role in inculcating a knack of writing in Eric. He was not just a writer, but a man who was fond of books and he had a passion for studies.
His inclination towards books could be gauged from the fact that he completed his education in the reputed Columbia College where he completed a sociology degree course.
Eric Van’s career began with a thrust in the educational system where he had a stint at the New York public schools system. He was also involved in the music business, as he worked in a few very popular record labels, namely Elektra records. Eric Van’s music career was given a boost when he got the opportunity to work alongside Elton John.
Eric begins his writing journey
Eric also had a great involvement with Cash Box magazine, as he used to write regularly for the magazine. His earlier involvement with record labels helped him to understand music in a big way, and he began writing for magazines.
People were very fond of Eric Van’s review and trend setting articles on past musicians and few very popular present musicians. His work for Cash magazine where he wrote about the great Jimi Hendrix is still recalled with fondness. Apart from his regular writings for Cash magazine, he also came out with strong opinions about Elton John.
Eventually, Eric Van Lustbader also began scripting series of bestsellers. His books invited people to explore a rare world. The books used to provide a rare insight into very different aspects of life.
Eric’s writing gained prominence and his novels such as Ninja found their way onto the shelves of 20th Century Fox, and a movie was eventually made by them. His other work 'testament' was a breathtaking novel, and it was these novels, which prompted the late Robert Ludlum team to consider Eric Van Lustbader to continue to write Jason Bourne Novels.
Eric’s work on Japanese maples and beech trees for the New York Times is one of the highlights of his career.
Eric’s other achievements
Eric also holds a series of honorary posts for city and country schools in Greenwich Village. He is a chairperson of the school’s strategic planning committee, apart from also being in the list of Board of trustees, and executive committee.
Eric is also a Reiki expert, and presently lives along with his family in the famous Long Island’s South Fork.
